Full Text

The Full text pages contain the text of the resources included in ProQuest Learning: Literature.

Reference Full text may also include items such as glossaries, maps, chronologies and bibliographies. To view any of these items, click the relevant link.

How do I move through the list of articles retrieved by my search?

To view the Full text of another article from the Search Results page, click the Back to Search Results link at the top of the Full Text page, then click on a new link in the Search Results list.

You can also move through the list of items retrieved by a search by using the Go to previous result in the list   Go to next result in the list buttons at the top of the Full text page.

What does the colored text on the full text page mean?

When you submit a search, the returned results use a hit highlighting feature to show you the exact words within the Full text of an article that satisfy your search. The words making up the 'hit' are emphasized by the color purple.

You can navigate via these 'hits' by clicking the Go to best Hit link. This will jump you straight to the first highlighted hit, you can then jump to the next 'hit' by clicking the Next Hit icon, and you can jump back to the previous 'hit' by clicking the Previous Hit icon.

How can I link to this page?

  • Click on the Link to this page button at the top of the page. A new window will open with a link for bookmarking and an Open URL for copying.
  • To bookmark the page in your browser click the Bookmark this page link at the top of the new window.
    If you are using Internet Explorer, the 'Add Favorite' dialog box will open. You can type a new name for the page if you want to.
    If you are using Netscape, a 'Bookmark article' window will open. To add the page to your browser bookmarks, right-click on the link in this window and select "File Bookmark for Link" (Netscape 6) or "Bookmark This Link" (Netscape 7).
  • The Open URL can be copied and pasted into another document or VLE. To copy the link click on the Open URL and
    PC Users - Hold down Ctrl + A to select the whole URL, then Ctrl + C to copy the URL
    Mac Users - Hold down Apple key apple key icon + A to select the whole URL, then Apple key apple key icon + C to copy the URL.
How can I print/save this record?

  • Click the See this article in print format button at the top of the Full Text page to open a clean version of the article (with no hit highlighting or navigation) which you can print out or save.
How do I email the article?

Click the Email article button Email this article at the top of the Full Text page. This will open a satellite window. To send the email:

  • Enter the email address to which you want the article to be sent. If you are mailing to multiple destinations, separate the addresses with a semi-colon and a space.
  • Click Send.
How do I add the page to My List?

Click the Add to My List button Add this page to my Clippings at the top of the Full Text page to add the article to My List. To access My List you will need to log in with your username and password.

Note: The first time you choose to access My List you will need to create a user profile.

How do I view the Table of Contents for the publication?

  • Click on the Table of Contents link at the top of the page

This opens the Table of Contents for that publication at the place where the full text page is listed.
